Supporting with Connection, Communication and Care:

Building Intentional Relationships with Children

As an Early Childhood Educator, you have an array of roles and responsibilities to complete on a daily basis at your early learning and childcare program. There is a curriculum to carry out, digital family reports to be sent, opening and closing checklists to complete, and of course, an endless amount of cleaning to tackle - and that’s just the beginning. Amidst the whirlwind, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters.

Now ask yourself this simple question:

In the extreme busyness of my day, did I take the time to make a meaningful connection with at least one child in my care? (Be honest with yourself - judgment is not allowed here!) If you most likely answered no…

This workshop invites you to pause and reflect on the foundational role that responsive and respectful relationships play in your success as an educator. We’ll explore why connection should be prioritized above all logistical demands, and how these relationships profoundly impact children’s health, development, and long-term resilience.

Together, we’ll shift the narrative from “attention-seeking” to “connection-seeking ” and examine how meaningful interactions, experiences, and environments support children’s well-being. We’ll discuss how educators can recognize, support, and celebrate each child through authentic connection, and how this approach can significantly reduce challenging behaviors in your classroom.

We’re excited to share this space with you and build meaningful connections together.
