Tools and Techniques for Terrific Transitions
As ECEs, we all have that especially one challenging transition of the day that can really send our daily schedule into a frustrating downward spiral!
During this learning opportunity, we will discover how to tackle those frustrating, loud and behaviour ridden transitions and turn them into some of the most successful moments of your busy day!
During this workshop, we will explore:
- why transitions often fail and how to avoid common pitfalls
- how successful transitions are directly tied to Active Supervision and Positive Guidance practices
- ways to prepare your environments, indoors and outdoors, at your program for effective transitions
- how to support children, and yourself, through challenging transitions utilizing songs, chants, and other tools/techniques
- how to obtain and maintain children’s attention in the heightened time of transitions
